Our Story

The Wonder Pup started as a bedtime story — a tale Ryan Reed would tell his son Jake every night. When co-founder Jackie Reed experienced the healing companionship of her dogs after losing her mother, she couldn't imagine how a child would feel losing a parent. That's how the idea of matching puppies with grieving families was born.

After combining their love for dogs and community service, Ryan — a Marine veteran and Conroe firefighter — and Jackie — a former Army combat medic and registered nurse — founded The Wonder Pup Foundation.
